With the most of its attractions lined up along the river Nile, Egypt receives visitors from all over the world. The Pyramids and the ancient monuments are really impressive and the services offered to the visitors are better than good.
Your first destination should be Cairo, one of the most fascinating cities in the world. People of Cairo are friendly and polite and the city covers every price range, and quality. You can spend the nights in good hotels for only $5 but if you want something better then luxury is easily available in all major places. Some hotels charge hundreds of dollars a night and many places are really worth that much.
As many travelers don't get all too enthusiastic about Egyptian food, Cairo offers many restaurants serving international cuisine, Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc. These places are very reasonable, and normally $8 will fill you up with first class food. For those who want to eat Egyptian food (like the delicious kushari) there are good places to eat full meals spending only two dollars.
Taxis are a good solution for getting around, if you're not going to far away destinations. The Pyramids of Giza are located nearby along with many other impressive monuments, so don't forget to visit them. Next to Cairo, Luxor is the city holding the most impressive Pharaonic monuments. Valley of the Kings, the Theban Necropolis and Karnak, are all a few kilometers away from the city of Luxor. For those who want something different Nile cruises come in all shapes, and qualities and if you are looking for luxury then you will find exactly what you want.
Egypt offers shopping at low prices. The quality of the work is often excellent, and the cost, after haggling, will be so low, that it is a bit difficult to point out the very best buys for visitors to Egypt. The papyrus and the beautiful Egyptian jewelry will fascinate you. Clothes and shoes can be of incredible value too.
There are no great health dangers when travelling in Egypt but you should be careful in the heat, eat in places that look clean and have many visitors, and drink bottled water.
