The restaurants are cosmopolitan yet inexpensive. You can experience local delicacies like Nasi Goreng and Sate Campur but not only because you can find a truly international cuisine from italian to mexican. Don't forget to taste the Bali's wonderful seafood.
Bali, a truly international destination, offers every standard of accommodation ranging from charming yet modest bungalow style hotels in lush tropical gardens for the budget minded through to arguably amongst the most exclusive and sophisticated hotels in the world!
There are some places you have to visit. The spectacular Mother Temple at Besakih, the ancient capital of Bali, Singaraja and the floating palace at Ujung.
Bali offers shopping at unbelievable prices. You can find casual and tailored clothing, locally made jewellery, handicrafts, antiques and artifacts, leather handbags, leather jackets and coats. The street markets of Kuta, Sanur and Nusa Dua are the best places for shopping where bargaining could help you spend even less.
In conclusion here are the things you need to know, or to do. You need a passport with at least six months validity at the time of your arrival. After your arrival you'll be issued with a tourist card which is valid for a 60-day stay. Major credit cards are acceptable in most hotels along with American dollar traveller's cheques. Most hotels use 220 volts, 50 cycles and a round, two-pronged slim plug, you might need an adaptor for your appliance. Many taxis are not metered so it's wise to negotiate the fare before you climb aboard, or if you wish to hire a car you must posses an International Driver's Licence or licence from ASEAN countries. Bali's conditions are often humid so cotton or linen clothes are the most comfortable.
