The Dream Workspace

The Dream Workspace

by Nicole Ford

Each morning we wake and follow our beaten paths to a makeshift home away from home where watercooler chat and caffeine pulls us through the day. From our swivel chairs we dream of an office drowned in natural light and the freedom cubicle walls cannot contain. We hope for a greater workplace where our brain is our berth; our office can be folded and shipped around the world; we can work from our beds, and our colleagues will know our mood from across the room. After this dream passes we return to a life short on family and personal time. Where evening dinners are missed and the balance between job and family gets lost in the daily commute.
